Vans, trailers and permits

• Vans: Commercial-type vehicles need a free van and trailer permit (12 visits in 12 months; apply at least 10 working days ahead). Hire vehicles kept two days or less need no permit. Vehicles over 6ft 6in tall must book a Wednesday slot because of a height barrier.
• Trailers: Single-axle trailers need a permit, and cars towing trailers need an appointment.

Before you visit

• Fridges, freezers and other cooling appliances are not being accepted until further notice.
• Limits per visit: one car tyre, one 5-litre container of engine oil, one refuse sack of plasterboard, two refuse sacks of soil, rubble and tiles, and one LPG cylinder. Asbestos is not accepted.
• No trade waste or waste that is not from your own home.
