About BinMinder

BinMinder sends you a reminder the evening before your bin collection, so you never miss bin day again.

What we do

You give us your postcode and pick your council. We look up your bin collection schedule from your council’s published data and send you a heads-up the night before each collection. You can pick how you want to hear from us — web push notifications, email, SMS, or WhatsApp.

Who it’s for

Anyone in the UK who has been caught out by the bin lorry rolling past at 6:42am with their wheelie bin still in the garage. We currently support hundreds of UK councils — see the full list on our Supported Councils page.

How it’s funded

BinMinder is free to use via web push notifications — you get unlimited reminders at no cost. Premium plans (£1.99/month or £19.99/year) add SMS, WhatsApp, multiple addresses, and remove ads. Some pages also carry affiliate links to relevant household services; we earn a commission if you click through and buy something. We never sell your personal data.

Who builds it

BinMinder is built and maintained by Jon Hammant, a UK-based software engineer. The whole thing is a small independent project — not a big company. If you have feedback, want to flag a missing council, or spot something wrong, please get in touch.

Privacy and data
