Scottish Borders Council runs 7 household waste recycling centres. None of them needs booking.
No booking needed
No booking needed in a car. Large vehicles (over two tonnes laden, e.g. Transit-size vans) and any vehicle towing a trailer must book a slot online, up to a week ahead.

Vans, trailers and permits
- Large vans (over two tonnes laden, e.g. Ford Transit, Vauxhall Vivaro, VW Transporter) must book a slot; unbooked vehicles that needed to book are turned away.
- Any vehicle pulling any size or type of trailer must book a slot.
Before you visit any Scottish Borders tip
- Asbestos, tyres, flares and hazardous chemicals are not accepted.
- Cooking oil is temporarily not accepted.
- Centres may close temporarily at short notice while skips are emptied.
