Vans, trailers and permits

  • Vans: Vans, open-back pickups, minibuses and similar need a free van and trailer permit (Oxfordshire residents only; 10 visits in 12 months). No Luton, box, tipper or vehicles over 3.5 tonnes.
  • Trailers: Car trailers up to 2.4m long need a permit; longer trailers are not allowed, and vans may not tow trailers.

Before you visit any Oxfordshire tip

  • Free DIY allowance once every 7 days: two 50-litre rubble bags (or five 20-litre bags) or one bulky item; you must book to use it.
  • Charged waste is paid for by contactless card (including Apple Pay and Samsung Pay).
