Vans, trailers and permits

  • Vans: Small vans (short wheelbase, low roof, up to 3 tonnes), 4x4 pickups and campervans need a permit; box vans, high-roof and long-wheelbase vans are not allowed.
  • Trailers: Car trailers up to 1.2m x 1.8m need a permit; larger trailers are not allowed.

Before you visit any Leeds tip

  • For Leeds residents only, arriving by car or bicycle (or with a commercial vehicle permit).
  • Free DIY waste is limited to 4 visits a month per household, each with up to two 50-litre bags or one large item up to 2m x 0.75m.
  • Gas cylinders, fire extinguishers and pet waste are not accepted.
  • Pedestrians cannot access the sites on foot.
