Vans, trailers and permits

  • Vans: Vans under 3 tonnes, pickups and small camper vans need a large vehicle permit (log book upload). Vans over 3 tonnes, box vans, tippers, dropsides and flat-beds are not allowed.
  • Trailers: Single-axle trailers up to 6ft (1.83m) allowed, up to 12 visits a year.

Before you visit any Kirklees tip

  • Every vehicle must be registered for a free vehicle permit (up to two per household); staff check your registration on arrival.
  • DIY waste (rubble, soil, plasterboard and similar) is only taken at Emerald Street and Weaving Lane and must be booked; 12 visits per household per year.
  • Last entry may be 20 minutes before closing.
  • Household waste only; no trade, business or landlord waste.
