Vans, trailers and permits
- Vans and utility vehicles need a permit (annual permit for recyclables, or a one-visit general waste permit). Luton/box vans, tail-lift and tipper vehicles are not allowed.
- Cars can tow a single-axle trailer up to 3 metres without a permit; large double-axle trailers need a permit; vans towing trailers are not allowed.
Before you visit any Cumberland tip
- Pedestrians can use the sites but need a pedestrian permit.
- Cumberland and Westmorland and Furness residents can use any of the 14 HWRCs in either area; permits come from your own council.
- For residents only; no trade waste.
