Cheshire East Council runs 4 household waste recycling centres. You need to book a slot before visiting any of them.
Booking a Cheshire East tip
Booking is needed only at peak times: weekends and bank holidays. Book up to 30 days ahead through the waste portal; arrive no more than 20 minutes early, and late arrivals are refused.

Vans, trailers and permits
- Vans, pickups and commercial-type 4x4s need a free household waste permit (valid 6 months, up to 6 visits). No vehicles over 3.5 tonnes GVW.
- Trailers between 1.5 and 3.5 metres (internal length) need a permit; none over 3.5 metres.
Before you visit any Cheshire East tip
- Free DIY rubble allowance: up to two 50-litre bags or one bulky item (up to 2m x 75cm x 70cm), no more than four visits a month per household.
- Tyres, fuels and trade waste are not accepted.
- Busiest between 11am and 1pm and on Mondays.
- You may be asked for proof of a Cheshire East address.
- Visiting on foot is not advised; call the site first to arrange a quieter time.
