Vans, trailers and permits

  • Vans: Small panelled vans, panelled vans up to 3.5 tonnes and single-cab pickups need a free permit (12 single-use tickets); vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, flat beds, tippers, drop sides, box vans and caged vehicles are not allowed. Hired vans (3 days or less) can visit without a permit.
  • Trailers: No trailer with a bed longer than 2.44 metres (about 8ft); double-cab pickups towing a trailer need a permit.

Before you visit any Carmarthenshire tip

  • Bring proof of residency (driving licence, current council tax bill or a utility bill no older than 3 months), plus a permit if your vehicle needs one.
  • Black bags must be sorted at an on-site sorting station.
  • Donation stations take reusable items (paint, wood, garden equipment, bikes, electricals, furniture, toys) for the council's reuse shops.
